Booking Policies
In some instances, Turquoise Reef Travel acts only as agent for you with the actual service provider and, as such, is subject to the booking and cancellation policies as imposed by 3rd parties.

All reservations for treks or services within the final 15 days prior to the start of the event require full payment.
A 50% deposit is due within 7 days of the confirmation. The balance is due upon your arrival in Mexico at our Playa del Carmen office. (For treks or services that do not originate in Playa del Carmen, full payment is required at time of confirmation).
Bookings will be automatically cancelled if payments are not received as scheduled. (Usually a 10-day grace period is applied)
All payments are refundable, with written notice, up to 48 hours prior to scheduled service or trek, less non-refundable deposits made on your behalf and applicable fees (bank charges for money transfer, service charges, etc.)
Payments become non-refundable with less than 48 hours notice (written) of the cancellation. Missed or incomplete itinerary items, when authorized by the guide and/or tour conductor, are refundable on a pro-rated basis. However, some non-refundable payments (less fees and charges) may be eligible for a credit when rescheduled within one (1) calendar year.
There will be a $50.00 fee per change made to all confirmed reservations with a paid deposit.
It is strongly suggested that Trip Cancellation Insurance is obtained prior to confirming your reservation. This can generally be purchased through your local travel agent or your personal insurance agent. [PLEASE NOTE: If you have reserved your hotel through The Turquoise Reef Group and purchased the Cancellation Waiver (CW), it does NOT apply to the treks and/or services purchased through this office in Mexico.]
When the services or itinerary items cannot be completed due to Acts of God (fuerza mayor), all payments are fully refundable less a $25.00 service fee.
Upon receipt of payment, Turquoise Reef Travel will send vouchers as proof of payment and final confirmation of requested services. In the event that a third party supplier fails to perform its services, your payment for that service is fully refundable.
It is not the intent of Turquoise Reef Travel to make your vacation plans strict or inflexible. We strive to add the personal interest that makes your experience in a foreign country comfortable, informative, satisfying and memorable.
